Lori Ahlin
I was born and raised in Southern California but have lived in Henderson, Nevada since 1996. I worked in the assisted living industry so when the bottom fell out on the economy I was laid off. In 2010, I was grateful my hobby became my job at the local bead shop, Bead Jungle. I’ve always been involved in some kind of arts and crafts, inspired by my Mom's lifelong creativity, but beading has been my passion since 2004.
I have loved being a designer and instructor in the Las Vegas area, since 2011. In May of 2019, I enjoyed “road tripping” across the country, like a gypsy, showing up in different states and time zones. While I was traveling, I was able to teach a zoom class at the Heart of Texas Bead Retreat. Now that I’m back in Vegas, I want to start teaching and sharing my love of beading again. Join me for a class, I like to have fun, I have a twisted sense of humor and a boisterous laugh. My past students say I make it easy to have fun and understand the patterns.
I have a unique combination of skills for teaching, great patience with a strong balance of logic and creativity. I enjoy Beadweaving, Bead Embroidery, Kumihimo and Leather Wraps. I believe beading can be very therapeutic and we all know it’s much cheaper than group therapy.
