This necklace features a central braided section using large resin focal beads and fire polish beads.
Students will learn how to load beads to create a specific pattern and how to add focal beads during the braiding process.
You will also learn how to use wire and bead caps to create a secure finish to your braid.
There will be homework assigned for this project.
Students will need to load the beads for the first section and complete the braiding for this section prior to class.
If you have a Marudai (a traditional Japanese braiding stand) I will show you how to adapt the braiding instructions.
PREREQUISITES: Loading beads, braiding with beads, Kumihimo round braid
TOOLS: Round Kumihimo disk, Kumihimo weight, size 10 beading needle, Fireline, chain nose pliers, wire snips
